Envigeek is a provider of website hosting, and other Internet-related services, Envigeek offers its clients, and their customers and users, the means to disseminate a wealth of public, private, commercial, and non-commercial information. Envigeek respects that the Internet provides a forum for free and open discussion and dissemination of information, however, when there are competing interests at issue, Envigeek reserves the right to take certain preventative or corrective actions. In order to protect these competing interests, Envigeek has developed an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), which supplements and explains certain terms of each customer’s respective service agreement and is intended as a guide to the customer’s rights and obligations when subscribing to Envigeek services. This AUP will be revised from time to time. Customer continued usage of Envigeek services after changes to the AUP are posted on Envigeek’s website will constitute the customer’s acceptance of any new or additional terms of the AUP that result from those changes.
One important aspect of the Internet is that no one party owns or controls it. This fact accounts for much of the Internet’s openness and value, but it also places a high premium on the judgment and responsibility of those who use the Internet to disseminate information to others.
When information is disseminated through the Internet, they also must keep in mind that Envigeek does not review, edit, censor, or take responsibility for any information its clients may create. When users place information on the Internet, they have the same liability as other authors for copyright infringement, defamation, and other harmful speech. Also, because the information they create is carried over Envigeek network and may reach a large number of people over the Internet, clients’ postings to the Internet may affect other clients and may harm Envigeek goodwill, business reputation, and operations. For these reasons, clients violate Envigeek policy and the service agreement when they, their customers, affiliates, or subsidiaries engage in the following prohibited activities:
- Unsolicited Commercial Email / Spam
- Adult Content
- Resource Usage Abuse
- Illegal Activities
- Exploitable Scripts
- Copyright Infringement / intellectual Property
- Defamatory or Abusive Language
- Facilitating a Violation of our Terms of Service
- Other activities Envigeek determines to be harmful
Repercussions of spam: Across the Web, it is generally accepted that spam is an inconsiderate and improper business practice.
Impacts to Envigeek networks:
Spam is not only harmful because of its negative impact on consumer attitudes toward our, but also because it can overload our network and resources. There are many groups that report and block the networks that spam is sent from. In the event spam is generated off of ours or our customers servers, our network can be blocked and this impacts other users putting our network at risk.
Since it is unsolicited, users who receive spam often become angry and send complaints to our upstream providers. This upsets our providers who abhor spam for the same reasons that we does – it causes negative consumer attitudes and drains resources. We strive to maintain favorable business relationships in the Web community and obviously will not allow any practice that threatens these relationships.
